Kazakhstan TKO: Fond of pushing the envelope with his boorish Borat character, Sacha Baron Cohen found himself on the wrong end of a couple of punch lines in NYC recently, according to the National Enquirer. Heading out for a drink with Hugh Laurie after the pair's recent SNL appearance, Cohen stayed in Borat mode to goof on a passerby as Laurie stepped into a Greenwich Village pub. The comedian reportedly told the guy on the street, "I like your clothings. Are nice! Please, may I buying? I want to have sex with it...your clothings...very much." Whereupon, the dude smacked Cohen upside the head—and then gave him another whack for good measure! That's when Laurie leaped to the rescue, rushing out of the bar and pulling Cohen to safety. Rough crowd, New Yorkers. In Manhattan, it pays to walk softly, especially if you carry a big schtick.

BORAT star Sacha Baron Cohen was beaten up by a passer-by after he tried to play a prank as his alter ego.

He approached the man and said: “I like your clothings. Are nice! Please may I buying? I want have sex with it.”

But the bystander didn’t see the joke. He took one look at Cohen and punched him in the face.

The funnyman — known for his Borat catchphrase “Jagshemash!” — yelled for help but was slugged again and again.

He was rescued by actor pal Hugh Laurie who had been on his way to a New York bar with Cohen.

Laurie rushed to help and pushed the man away as Cohen struggled to his feet. A pal of Cohen said: “Sacha couldn’t resist playing the fool as Borat, but picked on the wrong person.

“I guess this guy thought he was being attacked by someone unstable and lashed out. Sacha is very lucky he didn’t get a much worse beating.”

The incident took place after Laurie and Cohen appeared on the US TV show Saturday Night Live. The Brit comics were on their way to a late dinner when Laurie suggested they visit a bar in Manhattan.

Laurie, 47, told friends he feared Cohen was going to get badly beaten up. Luckily, 35-year-old Cohen did not receive any lasting scars.

MMhh, il gossip mi puzza... con il film di Borat in programmazione e già si parla di guadagni più alti per una commedia... (l'attore un po' di anni fa aveva interpretato il rapper Ali G, lui è fatto così, abbraccia un personaggio, ci si cala e lo porta avanti per parecchio tempo, oltre che nelle trasmissioni tv anch per strada).

l'attore per così dire è stato rilanciato da Madonna nel video Music e vista la gratitudine per il successo riottenuto le fa la parodia con varie flatulenze sul palco sugli Mtw awards.
